About Me

Hello! I’m Simone, a relationship columnist turned travel, food and lifestyle writer based on the West Coast of Canada.

Since 2017, I’ve travelled to Boston, Jamaica, The Dominican Republic, The Bahamas, Los Angeles, Memphis, New York City, Nashville, San Francisco, St. Lucia, New Hampshire, and Mexico — seven times.

Love Peace and Tacos is my blog where I share travel inspiration, cool hotels, destination guides, and my favourite travel tips + hacks. As a writer, travel addict and self-proclaimed taco connoisseur, I’m always on the hunt for amazing stories and my next favourite meal.

While I generally consider myself a female solo traveller, I rarely board a flight without my pint-sized intern Joe. Joe has been with me since 2013 and in that time, his Instagram has been featured in The New York Times  and on

When I’m not lugging my lap-top through an airport or contorting my body to capture Joe’s best angles, I work full-time as a freelance travel and lifestyle writer.

Since 2013, I’ve been the nationally syndicated sex and relationship columnist for the Toronto Sun, where my column The Sex Files appears each week. You may have also read my writing in places like The Washington PostChowhound, The Financial and World Bride or seen me mentioned in GQVice or The New York Times.

Follow here to see where I’m traveling and what I’m eating/drinking.
